Robert Genn

Robert Genn (1936–2014) was a Canadian painter, educator, and writer. Born in Victoria, British Columbia, he studied at the University of Victoria before continuing his training in Europe, experiences that shaped his lifelong engagement with landscape and light.

Genn built a reputation for his expressive, often vividly coloured scenes depicting coastal British Columbia, forests, and waterways. His work balances direct observation with a strong sense of design and atmosphere, reflecting both traditional landscape painting and modern painterly concerns. He exhibited widely in Canada and the United States, earning a strong following among collectors.
